Bacteria, Pumps and Taxis Oh MY!

We've survived another day. Heidi doesn't have dengue, which is what we assumed by the symptoms she was having. Instead the doctors told her she had a bacterial infection, which isn't as bad. To get a full update on her condition you can check out her blog...yes, she has written! In fact, today she stayed home to rest - which apparently means blogging! She looks much better today, fully functional and back to her normal enjoyable self.

Yesterday Kyle thought to go down and get Melodee part of her birthday present - a water pump which he figured would be helpful to the whole apartment. He wrapped it (sort of), made a card and brought it over (this was after he had to search Teguc for a LONG time to find one!). Melodee's reaction was hilarious!!! She thought I had set him up and told him to just get her a water pump (which wasn't the case)...so when she saw it she said "so is this it?". Realizing her mistake afterwards and realizing that Kyle was just trying to be helpful to us all, she felt really bad about the whole situation and decided to make cookies to make everyone feel better! That's our princess! :) Her main birthday bash will take place in El Salvador - that's right, the whole trip will be for you Melodee! :) Due to popular demand, here is a picture of Melodee with her new bestest water pump...made for a princess, no pumping necessary!

There's a taxi strike taking place in the city today. The taxi drivers are upset about the spiking gas prices...so they've decided to demonstrate all across town. Which basically means that they are blocking streets, shutting down roads and not taking passengers to destinations. That's unfortunate for us since we depend on them to move around...therefore we can't get groceries right now as planned. Hopefully tomorrow it will be over!

By the way, we're still underhanded at the highschool. We have a need for a computer teacher, so if you know of anyone interested in coming into our world let me know! I want to thank you for keeping in touch and letting me know how you are doing - I've been enjoying emails from home and people I've worked with in the past, the Lord is good and has encouraged me constantly! I hope He's done the same for you!!
