Time Fair

This past Wednesday, March 29th, was a culminating moment for my grade 10 class. They had been working on a project for a month and that was the day that they were going to show off to the rest of the school...and show off they did! We started building the fair the night before. This fair was our little brain-child. It was presentations of different times - like a human timeline. The students chose a time, prepared a station that showed the culture, the lifestyle, and the look of that time. It went very well and I had a lot of great feedback on it. Ancient Egypt - they made their own pyramid!












The Crusades - they wanted to bring in a horse!












This was just the entrance way to the Renaissance station...inside they had a model of the Sistine chapel! (I think I may have to send a photo album for you to really get the idea of how all out these students went!)













The French Revolution Group had their own identities...check out Napoleon! Maria's dress (on the right) was simply gorgeous! This was their entrance way as well, it was made last minute because one of their group members (who had the real arch) wasn't able to come. They had a whole living room set up with candles everywhere.







Imagine stepping through a curtain from a lovely dining room into a war zone! That's what the kids at the fair had to prepare themselves for! WWI presentators made them duck sniper bullets as they shared information!

We were introduced to the Flappers and Charlie Chaplin for the '20s'.

WWII had their very own Hitler! They also had an extremely well rounded presentation with enough information to be used at the university level.

Yes, that is a truck from the 40s. This group also went all out for their presentation on the 40/50s. There are quite a few other groups and pictures...Rome/Greece, Middle Ages, Era of Communism, and the 70s/80s (that constructed their own two room tent!)
